This is the rest of my first Lithops flower. The second one is still blooming and opened in the background.
In these pics one can see quite well how a seed capsule will form out of a flower. I could not pollinate my Lithops flowers this time, because Lithops are self-sterile (meaning that the same plant cannot pollinate itself even with two different flowers), so no seed capsule is going to form here.
But Lithops seed capsules are said to have five (or more) parts/pieces/leaves closing and touching in the middle. I can see where these five parts come from: the outer leaves on the flower bud.
